Olympic Champion
Terrance Herrington
In a moving and celebratory fashion, about 90 people came out on Saturday, May 22, 2010, to honor Olympian Terrance Herrington (left photo) by dedicating the competition running track at Byerly Park in his name.

Senator Gerald Malloy, Representative Jay Lucas, Mayor Mel Pennington and Hartsville City Councilmembers, Dr. Jimmy Bell, Anthony James, and Danny Nicholson were on hand to congratulate Mr. Herrington; each with their own anecdotes lending a humorous touch to the celebration.

After the unveiling of the dedication plaque, a one-mile fun run with Terrance was held for anyone who wished to participate.
