The City of Hartsville’s Parks and Leisure Servicest is comprised of thirteen full time employees and one contract employee. The Parks and Leisure Services Department is made up of four divisions: Parks, Cemeteries, Museum and Airport. SPECIAL EVENT PERMITS:If you have a community function, a spepcial event permit is required. These can be obtained at the Coach T.B. Thomas Sports Center at Byerly Park. The Parks and Leisure Services Department is responsible for the planning, development, and maintenance of Byerly Park - a multi-use recreation complex located on 14th Street and Russell Road. Byerly Park is one of the finest recreation facilities in the Southeast. Currently, Byerly Park has six soccer fields, two football fields, horseshoe pits, six tennis courts, a 1.2 mile walking/jogging/biking trail, plus eight softball/baseball fields; an eight-lane track and field facility, two playgrounds and the Coach T.B. Thomas Sports Center. The Hartsville Airport and city cemeteries also fall under this category. |
