From time to time, the City of Hartsville will experience natural disasters including area flooding and other effects from a major hurricane. We want you and your family to be safe before, during, and after a natural disaster.

Emergency Survival Kit
Keep a small satchel, backpack or waterproof bag nearby to grab quickly in case of an emergency. Plan on a three-day supply per person. Some items to include are:
Flashlight and batteries
Radio and batteries or crank radio.
Spare batteries
Candles, matches/lighter.
First Aid kit
Extra car keys and cash.
Important papers (identification)
Food and bottles water — enough for three (3) days per person.
Blankets or sleeping bags.
Clothing and footwear.
Toilet paper and other personal items.
Medications
Telephone numbers
Playing cards, games, etc.
Whistle to attract attention if needed.
