Maintenance Supervisor

Performs supervisory, administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating maintenance activities for city property. Min. Req: thorough knowledge of automotive mechanics, gas/diesel engines/transmissions, hydraulics, generators and welding; price trends and grades/quality of materials and equipment; working knowledge of hazards/safety precautions common to city maintenance/repair activities; effective oral/written communication skills. Assoc. Deg. with some specialized training in mechanics, maintenance management or related field; 3 years related experience at supervisory level; and/or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Hours of work: rotating 12-hour shifts 7 am to 7 pm and 7 pm to 7 am Monday—Sunday. Responds emergency equipment to incidents and performs fire fighting, hazardous materials, and fire prevention duties as directed by the shift supervisor. Min. Req: 18 yrs old.
