William A. (Billy) Shirley is a lifelong resident of Hartsville, South Carolina. He graduated from Clemson University in 1979 with a degree in economics. He is the owner of Auto Parts World. Prior to beginning his service on Hartsville’s City Council, Shirley served as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and all types of sports. Councilmember Shirley is an active member of West Hartsville Baptist Church and is married to the former Johnna Herring. They have two boys, Will and Niles. Councilmember Shirley was elected to Hartsville City Council during a special election in 2002 to fill the seat vacated by Councilmember Gaskins, who was elected Mayor. |
