Mayor’s Message

As the Mayor of Hartsville I would like to thank you for visiting our website. It is an honor to have the privilege to tell you about my hometown. Allow me to start by saying that Hartsville is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. We have a vibrant downtown and an active chamber of commerce that stimulates the local economy.

Educational opportunities for young people are numerous with several schools located in our city limits. Located in the city limits is Coker College which is regarded as one of the leading liberal arts institutions in the southeast. Additionally, we are home to the Governor's School for Math and Science where some of South Carolina's best and brightest are educated.

Our community has made a significant commitment to the health and well-being of our citizenry by investing in recreational opportunities such as Byerly Park where people from all over the state enjoy events such as soccer and softball tournaments.

I could go on and on telling you of the many attributes of this special city. However, in short, what makes Hartsville a special place is its people. You will find warm, smiling faces when you visit our city that is befitting of a small southern town. It is my hope that you will visit our city and experience Hartsville for yourself.
